ROOTing GHT Maestro

1. GHT Maestro has almost no reference over the web for ADB friendly USB driver;
2. Android 2.1 Update 1 is well known as a bricked platform, thus Universal AndRoot, SuperOneClick, etc. fails to ROOT the device;

Assuming you have Android SDK, Java SDK & Java VM installed;

a. Download Unlock Root;
b. Run Unlock Root;
c. Connect the phone with USB;
d. Make sure USB debugging is enabled on the device settings;
e. Use ADB devices to check your phone is found by ADB;
f. Hit the ROOT button and allow to reboot the phone when it wants too;

Now GHT Maestro is ROOTed [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Use a terminal application on the phone with following commands to check;

$ su
# cd data
# cd app-private
# mkdir foo bar
# ls

You should see that the directories are created which is a super user only task.
